Tax policy central to government responses to coronavirus

Reflecting on the global economic downturn, the OECD has also produced analysis of the emergency tax and economic measures introduced by countries around the world as part of their responses to the crisis. The OECD tax policy tracker, a compilation of over 700 tax policy measures taken by over 100 countries so far, shows the central role played by tax and fiscal policy in limiting hardship caused by the various containment measures.

The OECD’s 4 May 2020, 45-minute webinar OECD Tax Talks covers recent and forthcoming developments in its international tax co-operation work in light of coronavirus, and also sets out continuing efforts to facilitate a multilateral ‘consensus-based solution’ to taxation of the digital economy.
