HMRC is inviting guests to a special thanksgiving service ‘to celebrate the work of HMRC’. The service is to be held at Westminster Abbey on 23 September ‘to recognise the department’s role … in collecting revenue and taxes, the contract with society that taxpayers enter into by paying tax, and the way that money is then spent to fund the essential public services to the benefit of society as a whole’. The service is open to everyone regardless of their religious beliefs, but admittance is invitation only.
