Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer and Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson have confirmed the government’s intention to replace the existing apprenticeship levy with a new growth and skills levy which will include new foundation apprenticeships. The aim is to allow funding of shorter apprenticeships giving learners and employers greater flexibility over their training and encourage investment in younger workers.
