The chancellor will present the Autumn Statement 2023 to Parliament on Wednesday 22 November 2023, the Treasury has announced.
The statement will be accompanied by the usual Office for Budget Responsibility forecasts. The government appears to have reinstated this practice, after former Chancellor Kwarteng decided not to publish the OBR forecasts alongside his mini-Budget in September 2022. Those forecasts, which were made public recently, predicted the UK economy would fall into recession, inflation would take off, interest rates would need to rise and GDP would fall.
