The minutes of HMRC’s Capital Taxes Liaison Group of 9 April have now been published.
The minutes included details on the following points:
Extra Statutory Concession (ESC) D32: HMRC will engage with interested stakeholders to update the guidance. Action Point 72 was created for stakeholders to contact the secretariat if interested in working on the guidance update; and
TCGA 1992 s 22: there is a potential issue with this legislation regarding non-resident dividend income coming into the UK and being classified as income tax rather than attracting a CGT charge under section 22. HMRC will review the guidance to consider whether updates are needed. Action Point 73 was created for this.
