printer Mail

HMRC has published further new and updated guidance for imports, exports and customs to reflect the post-transition period regime:

  • Get help using example declarations for imports to Great Britain from the rest of the world: new guidance in the form of example scenarios on the Customs Declarations Service for imports to Great Britain from the rest of the world.
  • When we select your goods for inland pre-clearance checks: updated to cover what needs to be done before a check and how long checks may take.
  • Sending goods to the EU through roll on roll off ports or the Channel Tunnel: updated to note that, where a departure message is not given manually by the trader, CHIEF will automatically assume departure of goods at RoRo ports after 15 days (rather than after 5 days, as previously applied)
  • Goods leaving Great Britain from 1 January 2022 at ports using GVMS (CIP 1): new guidance on HMRC policy on customs controls for exports from Great Britain to the EU from 1 January 2022.
  • Using similar goods to replace customs special procedure goods: the list of ‘goods with different rules’ has been updated with changes to organic and genetically modified goods.
