HMRC’s online services will be affected by scheduled upgrades during the next two weeks. Employers using PAYE online later today may find that acknowledgements are delayed.

The department announced on 30 March that online services would ‘start to close from 21.00 on Thursday 5 April’ and ‘remain closed until Wednesday 11 April’.

HMRC said: ‘All services will be affected including VAT, Corporation Tax, Self Assessment and PAYE. Detailed information on timings and individual services will be confirmed.’

The Service availability page of HMRC’s website provides further details, including the effect on:

  • PAYE between today and 13 April;
  • the construction industry scheme, corporation tax, online agent authorisation, pension schemes, self assessment, shared workspace and stamp taxes between 5 and 11 April; and
  • EU VAT refunds and VAT online between 8 and 11 April.
