G20 endorses OECD tax reform plan

printer Mail

Chancellor Rishi Sunak has welcomed the progress made on international tax reform during the meetings of G20 finance ministers in Venice on 9-10 July. The G20 finance ministers fully endorsed the global tax agreement outlined in the OECD statement of 1 July, and they called for outstanding issues to be swiftly addressed at OECD level along with a detailed implementation plan by October. They also invited those Inclusive Framework members who have not joined the agreement to do so.

Separately, the European Commission has said it will delay the announcement of its planned EU digital levy on online sales, and it will reassess this in the autumn.
