The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) has updated its guidance on giving evidence by video link from abroad in a UK court or tribunal case. The FCDO has included further detail, added links to tribunal webpages and updated the list of countries to which the guidance applies.
This is the first update to the guidance originally issued in August 2023 which set out the rules that applied in the respective individual countries. One key point to note is that, while many countries permit the voluntary giving of evidence by video link in UK court and tribunal proceedings, others apply restrictions, some do not allow the practice and others require special permission.
