HMRC is proposing to combine its bi-monthly updates for tax agents by incorporating Working Together material into the Agent Update.
‘We aim to keep the WT style, with articles about activities and issues identified through the local groups together with changes brought about by the national team, but the updates will be shown in the Agent Update style with a headline and a hyperlink to material on HMRC’s website,’ the department said in Working Together issue 49, published last week.
HMRC has invited comments on the proposed change, which was supported by representative groups at the WT Steering Group. The ICAEW Tax Faculty said the idea was a sensible one.
The latest issue of Working Together also has articles on online security, the joint initiative on HMRC service delivery, and an external email pilot for agents which has been extended to 31 December 2012.
