In September 2018 HMRC launched a pilot for its ‘enhanced BRR process’ (see our previous article ‘HMRC’s 2018/19 business risk review pilot’ Tax Journal 21 September 2018). HMRC’s BRR project team has now evaluated the pilot and made subsequent changes to its BRR templates indicators and guidance.
The new BRR process will be called ‘BRR+’ and it has an expected ‘go live’ date of 1 October 2019. We anticipate that HMRC will launch a communications campaign prior to its launch. BRR+ is closely aligned to the BRR pilot.
The significant changes are set out below.
