HMRC’s ‘Spotlights’ page now provides contact details and an online form for anyone wanting to tell HMRC about suspected tax avoidance.

‘Tax agents can provide us with information about people or companies who may be promoting the type of arrangements covered by Spotlights … Anyone offered a [product] they are concerned about can also provide details of the tax arrangement,’ HMRC said.

HMRC has added two VAT arrangements – concerning relocation of telecommunication service providers, internet service providers and broadcasters, and ‘supply splitting avoidance’ – to its list of ‘particular schemes’ tha it considers to have the widest implications.
