The report notes that ECOFIN has started to work on the EC’s proposal on the automatic exchange of information on tax rulings, although some member states have expressed their desire for further discussion on EU VAT fraud. Other topics covered included the progress made under the Latvian presidency of the EU Council on various matters, including the proposed changes to the Parent-Subsidiary Directive and Interest and Royalties Directive; standardising VAT return; the latest work on the financial transactions tax; other transparency measures; and areas of work to be taken forward for the second half of 2015 under the Luxembourg presidency of the EU Council.
