  • The OECD has released the seventh batch of ‘stage 1’ peer review reports on the implementation of minimum standards for tax dispute resolution mechanisms under BEPS Action 14, covering Brazil, Bulgaria, China, Hong Kong, China, Indonesia, Russia and Saudi Arabia.
  • Kenya and Oman have signed the ‘Multilateral convention to implement tax treaty related measures to prevent BEPS’, bringing to 92 the number of signatories.
  • Benin, Bosnia Herzegovina, Cabo Verde, Mongolia and Oman have signed the OECD’s ‘Multilateral convention on mutual administrative assistance in tax matters’, bringing to 135 the number of jurisdictions participating in the convention.
  • The OECD/UN ‘Tax inspectors without borders’ initiative is to launch a number of new pilot programmes on automatic exchange of information (AEOI) to help developing countries make effective use of AEOI data. The announcement was made at a meeting to mark the tenth anniversary of the OECD global forum and coincides with an EU grant of €2m to support progress on tax transparency in developing countries.
