One minute with... Jonathan Ivinson

One minute with Jonathan Ivinson, partner at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld.

You are based in Geneva. How did that happen?

I worked in Zurich in 2000/01 and always wanted to move back to Switzerland. My old firm opened an office in Geneva and I persuaded them that basing an international tax practice here was a good idea. A lot of my work involves travelling so my time in Geneva is fairly limited but it is a great base and a wonderful place to live. Our clients are based all over the world but find Geneva a convenient place to meet.

You have a wealth of experience in the telecommunications and technology industries. What is the key challenge facing this sector?
