Paying voluntary NICs when abroad

HMRC have issued updated guidance on applications to pay voluntary NICs when abroad. The section which had noted that individuals should apply by post if they had previously paid three years of social security contributions in certain other countries has now been removed. Individuals who have paid three years of contributions in an EU country Gibraltar Iceland Liechtenstein Norway Switzerland or Turkey are now within the scope of HMRC’s online application tool.
