The final planned upgrade to the National Insurance and PAYE Service (NPS) introduced in June last year adding automation to the end-of-year reconciliation took place on 6 April and will be rolled out over the next few weeks HMRC said. HMRC is taking steps to ensure that these calculations are not affected by 'data issues' that resulted in large numbers of incorrect PAYE coding notices being issued earlier this year and delayed the issue of many employers' notices P9 prior to 6 April.

HMRC expects to complete this month its review of codes where data mismatches were identified. Employers may receive more P6 notices for 2010/11 than they would normally receive in April.
