The future of our tax profession

Mark Bevington (ADE Tax) shares his view on the three key challenges taxpayers are currently facing and how their advisers should respond.

It’s January so time to anticipate where our world is going and make our plans. Projecting the future rarely ages well yet what other basis is there to plan? In this spirit I answered Tax Journal’s call to share my perspective on what advisers should be doing in 2022. Here are my themes and perspectives. There are many more I could have touched upon from technology climate supranational initiatives the challenges of displaced employees and working from home but this article sets out my views on the three key challenges taxpayers are currently facing and how tax advisers should respond to those challenges.
