HMRC has published a tax information and impact note explaining the UK’s integrated tariff schedule, setting out the rules for the classification of goods and the approach for determining the tariff applicable to those goods. The UK integrated tariff is based on the UK’s Most Favoured Nation (MFN) tariff schedule (the UK Global Tariff – UKGT) which applies where the UK has no alternative agreements (eg free trade agreements or other preferential access schemes).
The TIIN also lists (with brief explanation) a number of recent Regulations which support implementation of the integrated tariff schedule.
